SHONA TAUNTON IS FREE, SAFE AT HOME

8/17/25  Shona Taunton has let us know she has been released from the hospital and is safe at home. She attributes her freedom partially to our effort on her behalf and is thankful for our support. Thanks so much to all of you who took the time and effort to advocate on Shona’s behalf. Little by little we make a difference. More and more people become aware that they are participating in a system which regularly violates the basic rights of people who are diagnosed with mental illnesses. Let’s keep going, best we can.

 

SHONA TAUNTON IS BEING FORCIBLY DRUGGED IN ENGLAND

8/14/25  Shona Taunton is being held against her will at Fulbourn Hospital in Cambridge, U.K.  She was forcibly drugged yesterday with Abilify. She was put into the hospital by her community psychiatrist due to “spiritual attacks”, not psychosis.  She describes herself as a “YouTuber, ice skater, dancer, singer, starseed, seer, violinist, poet, public speaker who is naturally and spiritually gifted, rather than mentally ill”. She is an artist who produces creative videos on her You Tube channel: Shona Taunton.  She is making short videos while in the hospital.  Please send emails to the following people reminding them that they are violating Shona’s human rights and are violating the first part of the Hippocratic Oath: First, Do No Harm and asking them to stop doing that.

Please let them know you are acting as a member of the MindFreedom Shield.  Please be courteous and respectful.  These people think they are doing the right thing.  They are misguided and doing great harm to people so we want to stop them but in a compassionate way.
