Executive Order: Ending Crime and Disorder on America’s Streets – The White House
MindFreedom International ferociously condemns the Executive Order “Ending Crime and Disorder on America’s Streets,” issued July 24, 2025. This is not public safety—this is a direct and brutal attack on the fundamental civil liberties of unhoused, mad, and disabled people, threatening mass institutionalization and forced treatment.
A MAJOR REMINDER: Our Uncompromising Voice
For almost 30 years, MindFreedom International has been an uncompromising, radical voice in daily advocacy for individuals through the Shield Program against forced treatment. We, MindFreedom International, have no employees and no government funding; we run on heart, fight, and justice—people power. We have been engaging in successful advocacy, public education, mutual support, peaceful protests, lobbying, and organizing without ever giving up our dream of facilitating mental and emotional wellness for all people.
We are neither controlled nor funded by any pharmaceutical companies, governments, political parties, or religious organizations. Instead, we are powered solely by contributions from individuals like you and occasional grants from independent foundations. We are also the only organization in the field of mental health that is accredited by the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with Consultative Roster Status.
Many organizations responded immediately in opposition to Trump’s Executive Order. MindFreedom International has a proven track record of action that speaks louder than words and continues to demonstrate its commitment.
Agency & Sovereignty Under Attack
This Order violates mad sovereignty and bodily autonomy—our inherent right to govern our own experiences, choices, and communities. It seeks to reverse 60+ years of progress, betraying the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Olmstead Supreme Court ruling that affirmed our sacred right to live in the least restrictive setting. We are not building alternatives to their system; we are building the system that makes their system irrelevant.
The Real Intent: Control, Not Care
This Executive Order directs the Attorney General to reverse judicial precedents protecting our rights and terminate consent decrees that prevent civil commitment. It deliberately ignores the true drivers of distress—poverty, lack of housing, systemic discrimination—choosing instead to punish, confine, dehumanize, and further marginalize those most impacted.
We refuse to be grateful for systems that profit from our distress.
Our Power Cannot Be Stolen
They thought they could silence us by hiring us, co-opt us by funding us, control us by certifying us. They were wrong. Our power doesn’t live in words; it lives in the fire that burns within our spirit. We are the naturally oppositional, defiant, and noncompliant survivors who recognize that our resistance is not pathology—it is wisdom.
Immediate Demands
We demand that the administration immediately and unconditionally revoke this Order and instead:
1. Massively invest in voluntary, community-based mental health services
2. Fund comprehensive “Housing First” initiatives
3. Enforce civil rights protections guaranteed by the Constitution, the ADA and Olmstead
4. Centered lived experience in all policy development
We Are Their Opposition
This is a national emergency for disability justice. The silence ends when we speak. The movement dies when we stop. The revolution continues when we remember: we are not their workforce—we are their opposition.

I think autonomy is the most important thing right now. Visual boundary setting, authentic expressions, and knowledge that “you” are not an “identity”.
The mental health system is broken, people bring their own problems and try to impose their constructs, identity, and vibes onto the mentally different.
The problem is that nothing has meaning, everything is make believe or just regurgitating an experience. The quantum frequency of events that have made us needs to be rejected.
