It is time to revisit the clarion call of one of the most influential activist leaders of the 20th century. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. repeated a theme over and over, in many different ways, for at least 12 years: “The salvation of our world lies in the hands of the maladjusted.” He repeatedly said the world was in dire need of a new organization, the IAACM.
In the proud tradition of practitioners of nonviolence like Jesus, Henry David Thoreau, Mahatma Gandhi, Dorothy Day and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., we at MindFreedom International wish to honor the life Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. today. We want to recognize Dr. King’s extraordinary contributions to inspire those of us who struggle against the corruptions of the psychiatric system and the abuses against people labeled with psychiatric conditions. We hope, in the coming year, to be able to continue our fight, along with many other allies, for a nonviolent revolution in America and in the world.
Blessings to all creatures of the earth.
