Rebecca Eichhorn, MS –
Resumé and Brief Bio
Rebecca Eichhorn (on right in photo) has ably served as the President of the Board of Directors of Oregon Consumer/Survivor Coalition, since she was unanimously voted into that position on 22 July 2008.
Rebecca is a long-time family mental health consumer/psychiatric survivor advocate. She holds a Masters degree in Human services with an emphasis on non- profit management. Rebecca combines technical capability of running a nonprofit organization, with the warmth and listening skills of a leader sensitive to the special needs of people diagnosed with serious psychiatric disabilities.
Currently Rebecca works as the Peer Services Specialist for Marion County’s Community and Provider Services and serves as President of the board for Project ABLE, Inc. The goal of Project ABLE is to promote peer-to-peer services and supports that empower individuals to lead healthy lives as active members of their communities. In 2001 Rebecca developed and implemented Consumer Care Partnerships project, which provides peer facilitated wrap around teams for adults not being well served by traditional mental health services models. This program has gained national recognition and is now being replicated in a variety of locations.
Rebecca is interested in creating partnerships with consumer/survivors, community, and service providers to further the success of individuals in their recovery.
Her enthusiasm and drive for peer supports comes in part from her personal experiences, her own journey navigating the mental health system, and as a parent and consumer/survivor advocate with Mid-Valley Behavioral Care Network (MVBCN). Her experience includes serving on MVBCN Council and chairing the Quality Management Committee as well as serving on numerous other MVBCN committees. In addition to her work within the five-county MVBCN region –Linn, Marion, Polk, Tillamook, and Yamhill Counties — Rebecca also serves on several state-wide committees.
She currently serves on the State of Oregon’s Adult Mental Health Oversight Initiative (AMHI) committee, as the adult Vice Chair on the State of Oregon’s planning Management Advisory Committee, and as President of the Board for Oregon Consumer/Survivor Collation.
