    LAURA VAN TOSH — A national mental health consumer/survivor leader!

Topic: “Mental Health Recovery Has No Walls.”

Laura Van Tosh from Salem, Oregon is a mental health consumer/survivor who has been actively involved in the national movement for nearly 25 years, and moved to Oregon only a few months ago.

She has developed innovative consumer-operated services and has worked nationally on public policy issues such as homelessness,  recovery, and consumer-operated services.

Laura has worked in Washington,  DC and other east coast communities.

After a brief presentation there will be open moderated discussion, hosted by David Oaks, MindFreedom Director.

WHAT IS THIS?

For seven years, this is the place where free-minded people in Lane County exchange views, ideas and mutual support for a nonviolent revolution, starting with mental health care.

All are welcome, especially mental health consumers, psychiatric survivors and allies.

This will be the 77th successful free monthly First Wednesday Round Table sponsored by MindFreedom Lane County, an affiliate of MFI, an independent nonprofit coalition based in Eugene, Oregon, USA.

MindFreedom International, based here in Eugene, unites members, sponsors and affiliates around the world.

This event is indeed at a round table in the public common room directly outside the MindFreedom office on the second floor of the historic Growers Market building by the MFI office.

WHERE DO I PARK?

* Five FREE spots for Growers office building guests are marked “reserved” to the north of building against the fence on the west edge of the Amtrak parking lot by the chain link fence.

* We’ve never heard of a parking meter ticket after 5 pm. All meters are officially free at 6 pm.

* If these spots are full, there are free parking spaces on any side streets starting two short blocks to the west of Charnelton St. and north of Fifth St.

HOW CAN I HELP?

MindFreedom supplies free snacks and beverages. You are welcome to bring extra if you wish.
