Pre-registration was required and capacity for the conference was reached more than two months before the event.

The conference starts today, 12 July 2007! If you are a pre-registered participant and you have a question, you can phone the office at 541-345-9106. ON-SITE CAPACITY REACHED: Because of the popularity of this conference/retreat, on-site lodging capacity has already been reached. The Conference Committee is looking into the possibility of off-site lodging, and if this is available we will make an announcement on this web site. Pre-registration is required. There is no registration during the conference.
WAITING LIST: Please do not send new registrations with payments until further notice on this web site. We will start a file of new registrations (without payment) as a waiting list, if off-site lodging becomes available and/or if there are any cancellations for those with on-site lodging. Thank you for understanding.
REGISTRANTS: If you have already registered, paid your deposit or full amount, and received an acknowledgment, please be sure to fill out a ground transportation form which you can find in the “Travel information center for registrants” below. If you have registered and paid, and you have not received an acknowledgment, please contact the office.
CONFERENCE START/END TIMES: Check-in is from 4PM-7PM on Thursday the 12th. Dinner is at 5:30. The Conference officially begins at 6:30. The conference ends on Sunday the 15th at 1PM, right after lunch.

MindFreedom International presents a conference retreat supporting thegrowth of workable alternatives to the mental health system entitled”Creative Revolution in Healing: Turning Our Minds Around.” Thebeautiful retreat site is near New York City at a place called WisdomHouse.
Why not do things differently and have a nonviolent revolution in mental health care? How about real choices and multiple options for our mental and emotional well being? Let’s turn around the way we think about mental health.
Let’s learn about and help create alternatives to standard mental health treatment, including safe houses, drug-free centers, peer support, emotional healing, poetry, music, drama, performance, writing, journaling, fun & games, liberation, activism, nutrition, exercise, and much more.
Capacity is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration well in advance is recommended. Payment can be made in two convenient installments. At this time no scholarship funds are available; if you would like to donate to the scholarship fund please contact the office.
Even though the call for presentation deadline has passed, all participants will be encouraged to bring information about their own work to share with others. Workshop presenters and speakers will be announced soon.
Who should attend?
- ANYONE who is dissatisfied with the mental health system.
- People who have helped themselves to recover or helped other people to recover from mental and emotional difficulties.
- People who are running alternatives.
- People who want to create alternatives.
About the Conference site:
During the conference, we will stay at Wisdom House in Connecticut. Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center invites you to an experience of peace and tranquility.
Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires, Wisdom House spans 54 acres of meadows, an outdoor swimming pool, woods & brooks.
There are several buildings on its campus, the oldest with a fireplace dating back to 1770. Wisdom House values its location in the historic town of Litchfield, Conn., incorporated in 1721.The town provides historic cultural resources to all who visit the area.
