Mary Maddock: Irish Rebel
One of the founders of MindFreedom Ireland, Mary Maddock, was featured in a full-page piece with photos in a major Irish publication called “Sunday World,” on Sunday, 17 July 2011.
Mary is a former nun who received forced electroshock, and coerced psychiatric drugs. But with her husband Jim, Mary became free of all psychiatric abuse, and now chairs the MindFreedom International Initiative on Electroshock and Human Rights.
Mary and Jim co-authored a book, Soul Survivor, and are fighting for far more than mere “reform” in psychiatry.
MindFreedom Ireland is one of the leading Affiliates and Sponsors in MindFreedom International’s “Support Coalition,” that unites about 100 groups for a “nonviolent revolution” throughout the mental health system industry.
