Challenge yourself today to give credit to your own story.
What creative ways can you think of to show your pride in yourself, your community, and your journey?
You are alive, you are making strides, you have something to offer — and this week you’ve shown it to the world! You’ve joined together with like-minded, creatively maladjusted individuals in your community and around the world to demonstrate that there is LOVE in the world, there is disciplined nonconformity, the dream of a different, better society is still alive, vibrant, and slowly coming true!
We challenge you to take heart and celebrate your hard work over the past week!
1. Wear your fun, unique hat made on the first day of Creative Maladjustment Week. Happily answer any questions people have about what it means.
2. Organize a potluck picnic. Share stories about how far you’ve come. Remember to feel free to share photos, blogs, and videos with the International Association for the Advancement of the Creatively Maladjusted (IAACM) and/or MindFreedom International (MFI).
3. Party and plan for next year! Work on ideas for how YOU can lead the way for next year’s Creative Maladjustment Week!

Martin Luther King, Jr. on PRIDE and celebrating achievements in activism:
“The non-violent approach does not immediately change the heart of the oppressor. It first does something to the hearts and souls of those committed to it. It gives them new self-respect; it calls up resources of strength and courage that they did not know they had. Finally it reaches the opponent and so stirs his conscience that reconciliation becomes a reality.”
(Pilgrimage to Nonviolence; 1960)
