  1. Called both numbers 12/13 and got a live answer for both. I was able to quickly say my message and hang up.

“Hello my name is Ruby and I am a concerned Minnesotan calling to ask you to stop forcibly treating Nikki Pons and release her immediately. Thank you”

  2. This is my second action on this Shield Alert. Yesterday, I spoke with Nikki for a half-hour and learned a lot more important info than we were given. First, Nikki was committed by a judge believing she is incompetent to stand trial. So Nikki is not getting out soon and her psychiatrist’s hands may be tied by the judge. Would you like us to write to the judge next? I sent the following email early this morning.
Subject: Nikki Pons in mental hospital, urgently needs someone she trusts
    Dear Ally,

My name is Kenneth Beitler and I am a member of the psychiatric rights organization MindFreedom International, MFI. Yesterday, I received a Shield Alert that Nikki is being forcibly drugged in Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. I was able to reach her yesterday at 218-332-5002 through a staff member during business hours. I already emailed the relevant hospital staff to show our support, request that they amend her course of treatment to minimize forced drugging and discharge her as soon as possible. However, after speaking with her yesterday, I believe she needs more help and she specifically requested I contact you.

She is concerned her psychiatric treatment is making her medical condition worse. She said she has a growth on her liver and she is afraid the psychiatric drugs would make it worse. So she is refusing to take some of the drugs and she is being forcibly injected with them. She told me her psychiatrist, David J Mach claims he has her psychiatric history but does not have her medical records. Whatever the truth is, it will be harder for her to get better until she is in contact with a friend she trusts and until she can trust the hospital staff. Perhaps you can help her verify her psychiatrist has her medical records or help Nikki with the transfer of them.

Please let me know whether you will help Nikki because I need to know whether to contact her state reps. There is a lot more to all this, but I decided it is best to let Nikki explain it in her own words. She might have a news story for you. Sincerely,

    Kenneth Beitler, MFI Volunteer

  3. Dear Mr. Stone,

I am contacting you regarding Ms. Nikki Pons, who is currently hospitalized at Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Fergus Falls. I am requesting an urgent administrative review of her situation and the conditions under which she is being held and treated.

Nikki reports that she was homeless in the Fergus Falls area and became involved in a dangerous altercation in the community. After police intervention, she was transported to your facility. She now states that she is being held involuntarily and medicated without her consent.

While I understand that hospital staff must prioritize safety and follow established procedures, I am concerned about the possibility that Nikki’s rights may not be fully protected. I respectfully request that the administration ensure that:

All steps of the involuntary admission and treatment process are fully compliant with Minnesota statutes
Nikki has been informed of her rights, including her right to legal representation and to appeal her hold
Consent procedures, documentation, and assessments for capacity have been properly completed
The least-restrictive level of care is being actively evaluated, including voluntary treatment options
Trauma-informed care practices are being implemented, particularly in light of her recent reports of violence and exploitation
She has access to an independent patient advocate or ombudsman

Nikki deserves a fair, transparent, and compassionate process—one that fully respects her dignity, legal rights, and autonomy. As the hospital administrator, your oversight is essential to ensuring that all policies and human-rights standards are met and that no unnecessary coercive practices are used.

I would appreciate confirmation that this review will take place and that steps are being taken to ensure Nikki’s treatment is consistent with professional ethics, organizational policy, and the highest standards of patient-centered care.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

    Sincerely,

    Martha Marti

  4. Dear Dr. Mach,

I am writing out of deep concern regarding the hospitalization and current treatment plan for Ms. Nikki Pons, who is presently at Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Nikki has reported that she was homeless in the Fergus Falls area and became involved in an altercation with an individual she believed posed a threat to her safety. According to her account, law enforcement intervened and she was subsequently brought to the hospital. She now feels she is being held against her will and subjected to psychiatric medications without her consent.

I fully understand that safety—both Nikki’s and the staff’s—must remain the top priority. At the same time, I respectfully request that her situation be reviewed with close attention to:

Nikki’s legal rights regarding voluntary versus involuntary treatment
Her right to informed consent and the least-restrictive alternatives
Trauma-informed approaches to care, especially given her reports of recent danger and homelessness
Ethical obligations under medical practice standards, including patient dignity and autonomy
International human-rights principles such as those reflected in the CRPD, which emphasize supported decision-making and the avoidance of coercive practices whenever possible

I am asking that Nikki’s voice, safety concerns, and preferences be given full and fair consideration, and that all possible non-coercive options be explored.

If appropriate, I would also appreciate confirmation that Nikki has access to:

    An independent patient advocate
Information about her legal rights and appeal processes
Means to communicate with supportive individuals on the outside

Thank you for taking the time to review these concerns. I trust that you and your team want what is best for Nikki and will ensure her care remains ethical, compassionate, and respectful of her rights.

    Sincerely,

    Martha Marti

FREE NIKKI PONS FROM LOCKUP IN MINNESOTA

It is reported internationally so going on that ,that a
Nikki Pons ,patient of the addressee above is psychiatrically imprisoned and being forcibly drugged at Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. According to Nikki, she was homeless and she has ended up in the hospital in escaping some horrid circumstances where people were trying to traffic her and that police intervened.
However now that is context ,whatever happened
With respect of your positions I believe Nikki’s human rights are on violation under the Hippocratic oath and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities (CRPD) she is being forcibly drugged and locked up against her will ? Please refresh the situation and see that she is to be respected as for any person homeless or not has basic human rights.

Women are particularly vulnerable to gendered violations and abuse. Particularly psychiatry itself is a gendered profession that seems to often ignored both people with disabilities and women’s voices.

Please ensure Nikki is protected from systemic and future violations and see human rights respected which is just and basic expectations. Involuntary drugging is not “treatment”, it is akin to psychological torture ,cruel traumatizing and surely in these times have we not progressed in seeing that ethically barbaric unacceptable actions under the guise of “care” is simply about power and control in this situation particularly and it seems very wrong to not commit to seeking to the utmost effort in providing Nikki instead with voluntary psychology confidential counselling or social work with freedom of movement to participate in any “treatment” by choice and safe accommodation from the street and predators. In doing this ,consulting with her and respecting her human rights and dignity not to be forcibly drugged or imprisoned or violated ,with respect ,I feel as many others the right thing to do.

What if it was your daughter sister wife friend ,please try and treat the individual person with kindness and client centred care and respect. Nikki’s self agency is essential in supporting her through a safe Christmas season away from predatory behaviours and assist her with any relevant help. Have you heard yet of Soteria House movement and proper community social work or places of refuge for women to be protected from homelessness. If requested or even asked can pastoral support and or women counselling also being respected on all unmet needs and right to thrive and be safe from harm. First,do no harm is something I thought was important to the medical profession but also important towards first step in a benevolent civilised society.Apathy is not acceptable either I am shocked at what occurs internationally but particularly in countries claiming human rights are respected. Quite simply it appears Nikki’s rights are not.

    Praying for a good outcome!
    In Jesus’s Name.
Despite the mostly it seems atheistic world we contend with. There is hope. And we are all accountable for our actions. Please do the right thing and Help Nikki.

    Kind regards sincerely
    Concerned world citizen
Anonymous preferred but you have my email and name above ,it’s irrelevant to you perhaps as I am not in your country however please know that Nikki is not alone or silent in being seen and heard.

Thankyou to Mind Freedom International for enlightening more people across the globe in contacting psychiatry for advocacy for various people who I hope will be heard.

We as a collective caring society are asking to
Free Nikki into a safe situation away from street predators and also not into forced drugging but rather assist her in protecting and supporting of her human rights like anyone else.”

  7. I wrote the following to both addresses:

“This young lady is experiencing homelessness which is difficult to begin with, but then a gang member tried to traffic her.
I’d be upset too! Just about anybody would! But she would up locked up and substances placed in her body against her will.
Please release her. Her rights have been violated quite enough.
    Thank you. Alice Lillie”

  8. Out of Houston, Texas.
I have come to the conclusion State
Action such as has been taken in the present case of Nikki Pons is nothing more than warmed over British Socialism. Free Nikki Pons
    Dios te bendiga.

  9. Dr. David Mach, M.D. and Jonathan Stone, Hospital Administrator,

I am a member of the psychiatric rights organization MindFreedom International. I am writing to you to show my support and express my concern for your patient Nikki Pons. I am requesting that you amend her course of treatment to minimize forced drugging and discharge her as soon as possible.

While I cannot make a specific recommendation, I have an idea for this. Prioritizing psychotherapy (such as ACT, CBT/MBCT and DBT) can help her develop skills to better cope with her mental health condition and unlike medication, its benefits are permanent. She claims she is a victim of trafficking and maybe she is.

Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely,

    Kenneth Beitler
