Webinar presentation:
Taking Charge of Your Mind and Making Your Life Go Well
Summary:
JANET FONER, MFI Board member and chair of the MFI Choices in Mental Health committee of MindFreedom International, will present a system that anyone can use with friends/peers, without mental health professionals involved, to reclaim their mind and make their life go well.
She will talk about five ways to refocus one’s mind off distress and onto rewarding and fun things. These include setting up a peers/friends/family listening network, having fun every day, setting goals to make your life the life of your own choosing, how to make the repeated decision to refocus onto rewarding things, and how to reclaim your natural healing process.
AL GALVES, MFI Board member and committee member of the MFI Choices in Mental Health committee of MindFreedom International, will present an exercise which you can use to be able to control your attitude towards your thoughts and your reactions to your thoughts.
He will lead you through the exercise of relaxing, paying attention to your breathing, and letting thoughts go. You will learn how to step away from your thoughts, get a little separation from them and decide how to react to them.
At the end of the presentation, you’ll learn about MindFreedom International and how to join it if you choose to do so. MFI web site: www.mindfreedom.org
