Dr. William Bronston, The Man Who Helped Close Willowbrook
On June 7, at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT), I Love You, Lead On and MindFreedom International will present Dr. William Bronston, who spent three years as a staff physician at the infamous Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, New York, and was deeply concerned about the plight of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He will share what inspired him to write “Public Hostage, Public Ransom: Ending Institutional America” and “A History and Sociology of the Willowbrook State School.”
