Shield Alert 2/09/2025

Erika Kulnys is a Canadian poet, musician, and singer-songwriter who is dedicated to a project she named  ‘World Peace Party’

Hear a sample of her music HERE

Currently, she is caught in a nightmare reality that is far removed from the idealistic world she tries to create through her music and her activism. She is being incarcerated and forcibly drugged at Berkeley Alta Bates Summit Medical Center. If you wish to take action right away scroll down to view ‘Action to Take’

At this writing, MFI has possession of Erika’s Psychiatric Advance Directive (PAD) HERE which clearly states that in the event of a mental health crisis she does not want to be subjected to ‘antipsychotic’ medication which have caused many paradoxical reactions in the past.

Erika is a brain injury survivor having been severely injured in a car accident several years ago and has been subjected to psychiatric labeling in the past. Today, she is under a conservatorship of an individual from her childhood whom she deeply distrusts.

Today, under the influence of several, unwanted psychiatric drugs, such as lithium and Depakote and Ativan, she is jittery, restless, and suffers from extreme insomnia. Adding to this, she has no privacy. Male patients frequently walk into her room threatening her safety.
Antipsychotics and mood stabilizers such as lithium, depakote and clonapin make her manic, restless, angry, and severely depressed as well as make it difficult for her to sleep. Male nursing staff, not patients, walk into the room all through the night.

Erika was raised by her mother, who is now missing, in an organization called Art of Living Foundation founded by Guru Leader Ravi Shankar. She claims to be a survivor of child sexual abuse and child trafficking. Critics and ex-members of the Art of Living Foundation have called the organization a cult. The founders have settled multiple lawsuits involving former members who claimed they were exploited and/or sexually abused by senior leaders within the organization. Erika’s previous attempts to file reports with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies against the Art of Living Foundation backfired and resulted in her being targeted, labeled, and subjected to psychiatric incarceration.

While MFI has not been able to verify the veracity of Erika’s claims against this controversial organization, there is no doubt that her current situation: incarceration and being subjected to unwanted drugging is intolerable and abusive.

Her current detainment has caused her to miss a scheduled, musical performance, detrimental to her professional reputation, and it also prevented her from attending an annual, social change folk music conference where she lines up all of her musical engagements for the coming year. Perhaps even most importantly, she missed several meetings with her immigration lawyers who were petitioning for her US citizenship. As a consequence, she is at risk of deportation by Homeland Security if she does not leave the country very soon, in accordance with her having entered the country on a Canadian tourist visa.

Keeping a Canadian citizen in a permanent conservatorship, which the psychiatrist has applied for, is illegal and she is faced with losing her homeland of the USA, after already having lost her homeland in Cuba when she was arrested as a terrorist in the Cuban airport and abused for months before being extradited on false charges, Perhaps even most importantly, she missed an immigration status hearing to extend her visitor’s permit.

Currently, due to missing the hearing, she is at risk of deportation to Canada which would have the result of her being banned from re-entering the USA in the future ever again, even for musical engagements.
